Sabre Springs Information & Highlights

A community of the city of San Diego, California, Sabre Springs is located about 20 miles northeast of the downtown area. Poway sits to its east, and Interstate 15 bounds it to the west, giving residents and those passing through quick, convenient access to one of the area's main thoroughfares. Carmel Mountains lies to the north of Sabre Springs, Rancho Penasquitos to its west and Scripps Ranch to its south.

Attractions in the community include Sabre Springs Park, with two LIttle League fields, and the Carmel Mountain Ranch/Sabre Springs Recreation Center, which, though actually located in Carmel Mountain is shared among residents of the two communities. The Black Mountain Open Space Park is just northwest of the community, as are a number of shopping centers, like the Carmel Village Plaza, and golf courses, like Rancho Los Pensaquitos Golf Course. The Aurora San Diego Hospital is less than two miles north in Carmel Mountain, and Pomerado Hospital is just a short distance farther. To the south of the city is Lake Miramar, where visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking and other activities.

Children living in Sabre Springs are served by the public schools in the Poway Unified School District, which encompasses 25 elementary schools, six middle schools, four high schools and a continuing education high school. There are three elementary schools physically located in Sabre Springs: Creekside, Morning Creek and Shoal Creek elementary schools.

There are several business parks located in Sabre Springs with many businesses and corporations running operations and employing residents from throughout the region. Sabre Springs is a master-planned community, and as such it has a variety of nature trails for walking, running and biking, and residents can easily connect with one another. Crime in the community is very low. Subdivisions in the community include those such as Monticeto, North Creek and Monterey as well as Sabre Highlands, Hillsborough and Belle Fleur.
